(Update!! 10/27/17

I now edit all of my photos that aren’t done by a hired photographer through lightroom! I use custom presets to achieve that dark moody look! However everything posted below is accurate and if you don’t want to invest in presets or LR then this is a great system and worked for me for a long time!)

One of the main questions I get asked all of the time is.. "your photos are so pretty! How do you edit them!?" So I thought why not share some tips and tricks with you on editing your photos all on your phone!! I also have a photography account (awphotographyinc) so sometimes I'll edit through Adobe lightroom and photoshop, however, I love me some vsco cam so I tend to put them through that app as well. I recommend investing in a DSLR camera, I think if you are going to start a blog or you have a blog but want it to get noticed you shouldn't be taking photos on your phone. You can get a base model canon rebel for under $300 and that should work perfectly!

Favorite apps

VSCO cam

I never use Instagram filters anymore, they tend to be too much and just not very flattering. My go to app for filters would be VSCO Cam! I will also post some formulas down below how to get the look you are going for.

Snapseed

I use this when I do a flat lay photo and I need to brighten certain spots or areas.

Adobe Lightroom mobile

I have adobe lightroom on my computer so this makes things so nice when I upload to adobe and I am working on a project its easy for me to go into lightroom save the photo to my phone and throw a VSCO cam filter on it.

Facetune

Now before you judge me I think you should use everything in moderation. This tool can be very dangerous for those that like to edit your self to the point where you look like a completely different person. I like to use this for spot treatments or for tones the most. If there is a weird stain on the wall behind me its easy for me to spot tone it out!

*Here are some of my favorite formulations for VSCO cam
