Eyelash Extensions hit or miss?

When me and my husband booked our trip to Mexico I knew I wanted to try eyelash extensions! Mainly because I wanted to still look pretty in the pool after a long day and not a hot mess with mascara everywhere! So I booked my apt with Dani! I had heard so many good things about her so I knew I would be in good hands. I googled before hand what to expect and how to prepare, but one thing Google left out is to not wear your contacts during this. Thanks a lot google, you could have saved me a lot of pain and trouble. It took Dani about 2 hours which flew by minus my irritated eyes which was my own fault. They tape your bottom lashes down so that's no bueno for someone with contacts lol. Dani was so professional and made me feel so comfortable! I would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to try out lash extensions! We finished and my lashes looked amazing! I received a mixture of the volume and classic lashes and they were so pretty! It was like I was wearing falsies but without that annoying feeling of false lashes. I actually couldn't feel these at all and they looked stunning! I will post a before and after below!
Fast forward to waking up the next morning and I couldn't even put my contacts in my eyes the solution made them burn to the point I wanted to cry. So I wore my glasses to the airport and just sucked it up. Glasses are still chic right? I decided to leave my glasses on until around 7pm that night! I didn't want to wear them to our nice dinner in Mexico so I tried to put my contacts in again. They still stung but it wasn't as bad so I wore them to dinner and took them out immediately after. The next day they were still a bit irritated but not to the point that I couldn't wear my contacts. After that I was in the clear! They held up through an ocean swim, pool volleyball, underwater pictures, and much more. It's been a little over a week since I've gotten them done and they held up very nicely for my photoshoot on Saturday!
Final thoughts!
I thought I would only get these done for vacation but I might end up keeping up with them for awhile. I love that it takes me less time to get ready in the morning and that I can wake up looking so pretty. I will say if you love mascara and you love a full heavy eye these might not be for you. It's pretty hard to wash your face and to manouver around these things while wiping off your eyeshadow! I definitely wouldn't recommend trying a wingliner with these either.
