Eyelash Extensions hit or miss?

When me and my husband booked our trip to Mexico I knew I wanted to try eyelash extensions! Mainly because I wanted to still look pretty in the pool after a long day and not a hot mess with mascara everywhere! So I booked my apt with Dani! I had heard so many good things about her so I knew I would be in good hands. I googled before hand what to expect and how to prepare, but one thing Google left out is to not wear your contacts during this. Thanks a lot google, you could have saved me a lot of pain and trouble. It took Dani about 2 hours which flew by minus my irritated eyes which was my own fault. They tape your bottom lashes down so that's no bueno for someone with contacts lol. Dani was so professional and made me feel so comfortable! I would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting to try out lash extensions! We finished and my lashes looked amazing! I received a mixture of the volume and classic lashes and they were so pretty! It was like I was wearing falsies but without that annoying feeling of false lashes. I actually couldn't feel these at all and they looked stunning! I will post a before and after below!  

Fast forward to waking up the next morning and I couldn't even put my contacts in my eyes the solution made them burn to the point I wanted to cry. So I wore my glasses to the airport and just sucked it up. Glasses are still chic right? I decided to leave my glasses on until around 7pm that night! I didn't want to wear them to our nice dinner in Mexico so I tried to put my contacts in again. They still stung but it wasn't as bad so I wore them to dinner and took them out immediately after. The next day they were still a bit irritated but not to the point that I couldn't wear my contacts. After that I was in the clear! They held up through an ocean swim, pool volleyball, underwater pictures, and much more. It's been a little over a week since I've gotten them done and they held up very nicely for my photoshoot on Saturday!  

Final thoughts!  

I thought I would only get these done for vacation but I might end up keeping up with them for awhile. I love that it takes me less time to get ready in the morning and that I can wake up looking so pretty. I will say if you love mascara and you love a full heavy eye these might not be for you. It's pretty hard to wash your face and to manouver around these things while wiping off your eyeshadow! I definitely wouldn't recommend trying a wingliner with these either. Honest Jaclyn Hill pallet review

If you are not a huge YouTube makeup guru watcher well then you probably don't understand the excitement behind this pallet. Jaclyn has been talking about this pallet and the release of it for about two years now, yea TWO YEARS! So when she finally revealed when it would be launching it sent me and all of her 4.2 million subscribers into a frenzy. I seriously squealed and then called my sister who is also a huge makeup lover and we freaked out together. I mean you have to be obsessed with makeup to really understand why I got so excited and she's someone who gets it and me. So when 10 am on June 1st hit you better believe I was on Morphebrushes.com refreshing like a mad women.  I was also on the phone with my sister making sure my computer wasn't broken because it was like 10:05 and I didn't see the pallet anywhere. When it did finally launch I got put in line and my browser just kept loading and loading until finally I was able to put in my info. I was smart and logged in already and they had my info saved from my last purchase, so it didn't take long until I finally got that beautiful notification that my order was accepted!!  

About a week later I finally received my pallet to which my husband says "did you really need another makeup pallet" clearly he doesn't get it and when I tried to explain he looked at me like I was crazy. So I said "did you really need another pair of Nike's" this is where I would have dropped the mic and walked off. I opened her up and there she was in all of her beauty. So fast forward I have been using it for a couple weeks now to really get the feel of it. 

My thoughts  

I think the range of colors on this pallet is perfect for someone who doesn't want to go buy a ton of pallets or for someone on a budget. When watching Jaclyn's swatches she said that the quality of these shadows was a lot better than normal Morphe pallets. I don't know if I believe that, I would say the quality is very similar to the 35R pallet that they had just previously released. If you are comparing the quality to Anastasia Beverly Hills modern renascence pallet to Jaclyn's pallet you can tell the quality is not the same. Pigmentation is going to be similar but quality of the shadow as in kick back and creaminess of the shadows. I definitely prefer my modern renascence pallet, however, you get a lot more shades with the Jaclyn pallet. The only shade that I feel like they really needed was a bone white shade or a matte brow highlight. I think if they had that then this pallet would be perfect. After saying all of that the pallet is only $38 and you get 35 shades! If you use Jaclyn code jackattack then you get some $ off! So win win! I am not sure the exact date of the restock but I know there will be one so stay tuned and follow @morphebrushes @jaclynhill for updates! Kylie Cosmetics Koko Kollection review!

Nothing gets me more excited than a new liquid lip color! So throw in an already popular brand and bright new colors, I'm sold! Plus the gold packaging is everything!!! I love that gold and rose gold are totally having a moment and tubes are a mixture of both colors. This collection comes with 3 matt liquid lips and 1 gloss. If I am completely honest I was not a fan of the gloss but thats because I never have been.  I hate the glitter and the stickiness that comes with them. So it will just sit on my vanity and look pretty. What drew me into this collection was the bold red and bright pink lips aka "Doll" and "Baby Girl". I decided to wear baby girl today, I put it on at 8:34 am and for the purpose of this review I decided to not reapply and just see what happens. So the photo on the left is at 8:34am and the photo on the right is at 4:07pm! I would say it lasted to full capacity around 3ish after that it got a bit wonky. I was pleasantly surprised at how non drying this formula is! I was fully prepared for desert lips and for the color I was okay with it. Ya know the whole beauty is pain gimmick, however, It wasn't drying at all until around 2:30 then I was like alrighty get this stuff off! But for the blog I held off just to see what happens and as you can see above not bad! For those that are just as obsessed with makeup as me I would say this is not as drying as Colourpop but not as comfortable as Jeffrey stars liquid lip. So overall I was very impressed and would definitely recommend this product. The collection restocks tomorrow at 3 pacific time aka 5 pm Central time! 

Skin Care FAVS!!

I never thought I would see the day where I would be giving out skin care advice mainly because I have the kind of skin where if you just look at it wrong ... I break out. So now that I have a system that has been working for me I feel like I should share some of my secrets. To say this has been a lonnnng trial and error would be an understatement! In January I decided enough was enough I wanted better skin. So that meant stepping outside of Wallgreens/drugstores because that wasn't doing it for me anymore. I have done a lot of "research,' aka I've spent hours watching makeup gurus on youtube and stalking the Sephora's review page HA. So clearly I am no expert here lol. I can only speak to what has been working for me. I have very acne prone/sensitive skin for those that are curious if my skin care routine would be a good match for you. So if you are anything like my husband who never washes his face and couldn't tell the difference between a face wash bottle and the shampoo well this post isn't for you.

This stuff is a little newer to my routine but I can tell its helping to reduce pores and clear up any stubborn acne. HOWEVER!!! it says you can put this on in the morning under your makeup... LIES! don't do it!! I wear this at night to sleep only!!

This stuff is amazing and pairs well with the eradikate! I think these were the first two products I bought when I started switching out products and they are amazing!!!

This spot treatment is my holy grail!!! It says on the top not to shake which seems weird because when stuff starts to separate our natural reaction is to shake it up, but don't do that! Let it settle and dip your q-tip in once its separated. 

Last but not least!!! This bad boy right here! My friend @krysten.I started selling arbonne a couple months back and gave me a sample of this eye cream. Who would have thought I would fall absolutely in love with it ... well probably Krysten lol. I am huge on wrinkle prevention and since I'm almost 27 I want all the help I can get and this stuff definitely helps with that!

My Hair Care Secrets

MY HAIR ROUTINE

This one is for my platinum blondes out there! When you are constantly bleaching your hair you are liable to start having some breakage. For me I have an extensive hair care routine to prevent this as much as possible. Do I have some breakage? Of course! But if you were to feel my hair you would know there were any issues. My hair is still silky and feels very healthy. I contribute that to @kerastase_official and @goldwellus. I use the products pictured below for best results.

The Kerastase line is absolutely phenomenal a bit pricey but totally worth it for healthy strong hair. I work at a hair school @academyofhairdesignok that is affiliated with an amazing salon here in OKC @duncanbrossalon . So having incredible stylist recommending products and using a great color line is also important. Another product I use on the regular is by @kmshairus ( Moist repair) you can see that below. I like to switch up my shampoo and conditioner on the regular so that my hair is getting all of the different nutrition it needs to stay healthy.
